The invention comprises neutral, soluble, mixed salts of the general formula wherein M 1 is an alkali-metal such as sodium or potassium, M 2 is a divalent metal such as magnesium, copper, zinc, tin, manganese, iron, cobalt or nickel, R<SP>1</SP> is an acyl radical derived from a dicarboxylic acid, e.g. succinyl, maleyl, adipyl or phthalyl, and R<SP>1</SP><SP>1</SP> is a guanyl, aryl or heterocyclic radical, such as benzyl, naphthyl, pyridyl, pyrimidyl, methyl-or dimethyl-pyrimidyl, thiazolyl or quinoxalyl; and the preparation of these salts by reacting an acylated sulphonamide of the formula with an equimolecular quantity of an alkalimetal base and reacting the resulting alkali-metal salt with a half-molar quantity of the divalent metal base. The above reactions are preferably carried out in a polar solvent such as an alcohol or water, using the appropriate metal hydroxides as the bases. The product may be precipitated from the solvent by the addition of acetone.
