938,092. Lathe and like centres. DE LAVAL STEAM TURBINE CO. March 12, 1962, No. 9497/62. Class 83 (3). An adjustable male or female centre assembly has the centre portion 24, Fig. 2 (female centre), seated at 26 for slight lateral movement on a support 10 adapted to be bolted and dowelled to the work. The lateral adjustment 58 is determined by the clearance between a spigot 22 on the centre and a bore 20 in the support. A number of segmental wedges 50 are spaced circumferentially, Fig. 1, between a tapered external rim 54 of the centre portion and a similarly tapered and opposite rim 38 on the support. The wedges are adjustable axially by screws 44 with collars 28.
