937,814. Threshing machines. R. CLAAS. Oct. 18, 1960 [Oct. 29, 1959], No. 35750/60. Class 6(3). In a threshing machine of the type having a co-operating threshing drum 15 and concave 16, an extension, 31 or 40, is provided along the entry side of the concave so as to extend the effective area of the concave when in an operative position, from which position it can be removed when desired. In Fig. 4 the extension 31 is pivoted on pins 32 above a stonecatching trough 30. The extension has a flat side 35 and a concave side 33 which normally lies flush with the concave 16 and includes a grating 34. In Fig. 6, the extension 40 is shown upside-down, in which position it acts as a stone-catcher. When not inverted, the grating 41 extends the concave. Movement between the two positions is effected by links 44 operated by a hand-lever. In Fig. 10, the extension 40 has a pin-and-slot connection 46, 47 with the concave and can be retracted to lie below the concave, as shown, or moved to lie flush therewith, by operation of the links 44.
