936,298. Electric selective signalling systems. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Oct. 5, 1959 [Oct. 6, 1958; Nov. 26, 1958], No. 33647/59. Class 40 (1). In a device for recognizing a particular sequence of electric pulses for use for example in a hospital paging system, the first pulse received starts a local clock-pulse generator 4, 5, 6, Fig. 1, which sequentially advances a ring counter ABCD in synchronism with the remaining bits, and the stages of the counter are so connected to two gates 14, 13, which respectively receive the input bits in true and inverted form, that when the particular sequence of bits arrives which the gates are arranged to recognize a gate 9 is not inhibited and the going-on of the D stage of the counter sounds an alarm 10.
