Abstract
934,446. Heating water. CALOMAX (ENGINEERS) Ltd. Dec. 16, 1960 [Dec. 22, 1959], No. 43437/59. Class 64 (3). In a self-feeding water heater and boiler of the kind, more particularly described in Specification 627,135, comprising an insulated heating chamber 1 containing in its lower part a steam coil and in its upper part a receiver 11 with an open delivery spout 13, the normal water level in the chamber which is fed from a balancer tank 7 being below the rceiver, the turbulent boiling water rising in the chamber when steam is passed through the coil is deflected into the receiver by a curved plate 12 which is easily removable for descaling and cleaning. As shown in Fig. 3 the plate 12 engages the edge of the receiver 11 by means of a locating member 14 and has a lifting handle 15 whose upper end terminates immediately below a lid 16 closing the upper end of the chamber so that the lid cannot be secured unless the plate is correctly positioned on the receiver.
