Abstract

934,197. Jaw-crushers. PEGSON Ltd. June 12, 1962 [March 28, 1961], No. 11207/61. Class 59. [Also in Group XXIV] The seat blocks 15 for at least one of the toggle plates 12, 13 of a jaw-crusher are each reversible in place and provided with a channel disposed closer to one of the upper and lower faces 16 than the other 17 for providing a means for adjusting the stroke of the movable jaw 9. As shown, the blocks are inserted with the faces 16 uppermost in the pitman 11 and lowermost in both the jaw 8 and backing member 4 so as to provide for maximum stroke of the jaw; a minimum stroke can be provided by inverting the blocks of both plates and an intermediate one by inverting the blocks of one plate only. The seating surface, which may be plane or shallow curved, is disposed normal to the axis Z which lies midway between the maximum and minimum possible positions. The blocks 15 have pins 15a for engaging appropriate recesses in the pitman and abutment block 4 and the front seat block has spigots in its faces 16, 17 for engaging a recess in the step portion 8a of the movable jaw, depending upon which way up the block is arranged. The front seat block is mounted and arranged for adjustment on the movable jaw in the manner described in Specification 917,743.
