Abstract

934,123. Cigarette lighters. L. PRAMAGGIORE. Sept. 28, 1961 [Aug. 23, 1961], No. 34801/61. Addition to 845,151. Class 75 (3). The cigarette lighter of the parent Specification is modified in that the actuating knob 30 is pushed in, instead of being pulled out, to operate the lighter, the current to supply the heating resistance 3 is conveyed by a plug 24 situated at the back of the device and the striker 19 of the bell 2 is supported in cantilever fashion by a spring 18 engaging a movable core 14 of insulating material carrying electric contacts 15. When the knob 30 is pushed in, three pins 32 on a ring 29 carried by the knob push the movable core 14 inwardly against the action of a spring 16 and consequently the movable contacts 15 contact a hexagonal conducting block 34. When the knob is released it is returned by a spring 28 but the contacts 15 are held by the inner ends of fixed contacts 7. The resistance 3 is thus energized and the fixed contacts 7 expand and eventually release the movable contacts 15.
