Abstract

933,210. Reciprocating pumps. S. D. HILL. Sept. 29, 1961 [Oct. 29, 1960], No. 37238/60. Class 102(1). An oil dispensing apparatus comprises a tank 1 in the top of which is secured a pump fitting 11 carrying a cylinder 23 and a spring loaded bucket plunger 21 through which the oil is forced to a dispensing hose 36, a carrying handle 17 being formed integral with the fitting 11 and concentric therewith. The pump cylinder 23 and piston 24 have non-return inlet and outlet valves 28, 25 and the dispensing hose has an outlet nozzle 37 adapted to fit in a bore 39 in a filler cap 16 when not in use, a shroud 40 preventing the entry of dirt through the opening 39. The liquid discharged during priming is returned to the tank through the bore 39. A dipstick head 43 is accommodated in a recess 41. The plunger 21 slides in a gland nut 19 in the fitting 11 and the downward stroke of the plunger 21 is limited by a block 30 thereon which prevents the hose 36 fouling the handle 17.
