Abstract
932,270. Mouldings. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Feb. 7, 1962 [Feb. 13, 1961], No. 4726/62. Class 20 (4). [Also in Group XXV] A decorative trim or moulding strip B having inturned edges 15, 17 is secured to a vehicle body or other panel A by a resilient mounting member 10 of nylon or other synthetic resin material. The member 10 has thoulders 12, 14 and flanges 16, 18 between which the edges 15, 17 are inserted, the parts being held in an assembled condition by a resilient holding arm 22. The member 10 is attached to the panel by a self-tapping screw such as 26 engaging an aperture 20 and the opening in the panel may be sealed by a resilient washer, e.g. of vinyl plastisol. Differently shaped trim strips are described and the member 10 may have more than one resilient holding member. Different self-tapping screws are shown and in a modification a stud may be embedded in the member 10 and a self-locking nut used to secure it to the panel.
