Abstract

931,906. Printing on special articles. K. H. D. NILSSON, and O. O. PERSSON. July 11, 1961, No. 25012/61. Class 100 (2). Printing is effected on a substantially flat outer side portion of the bottom part of an article of fibrous material, e.g. an egg carton, by positioning the carton on the projections 17 of a carrier 16 so that the projections constitute a support for the base of the carton, and moving a pair of chains 13 which support a plurality of carriers 16 on bars 15 so that the carton first passes beneath a roll 18 which temporarily compresses and flattens the base of the carton against the projections 17, and then beneath a cylinder 7 carrying inked rubber printing formes. The chains 13 are guided by rails 20 on their horizontal run. Blocks 21 take up the thrust exerted by the roll 18 and the cylinder 7. Specification 800,949 is referred to.
