A trimmer capacitor of the screw adjustment type comprises a metal plunger 18 axially movable in an externally partially metal-coated cylinder 16 made of ceramic insulating material, this cylinder being sealed liquid-tight by a cap 19 at the bottom and a sleeve 2 (around the adjusting bolt 9) at the top. The cylinder is filled with liquid, this preferably being polydimethyl-siloxane. The assembly contains a further tightly sealed sleeve 7 which guides the head 8 of the bolt 9.
