928,886. Piezo-electric elements; filters. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. March 6, 1961 [Dec. 21, 1959], No. 43292/59. Class 40 (8). [Also in Group XL (c)] The electrodes of a piezo-electric ceramic radial-mode resonator are delimited by lines which intersect, at least over the greater part of their length, the circular wave-fronts of the oscillations. As shown, disc 1, made of e.g. barium titanate or lead titanate-zirconate, is provided on one major face with three electrodes 3, 4, 5 separated by parallel non-conductive strips 6, 7. The other face is entirely covered by a single electrode 2. Connections are made as shown in Fig. 5 and the element used as an impedance transformer or filter element. The electrode arrangement of the invention is stated to suppress overtone resonances.
