Abstract

928,040. Nursery chairs. D. C. ALDERSON. Feb. 9, 1961 [Dec. 5, 1959], No. 41383/59. Class 52 (2). [Also in Group XXXII] A push chair has its forward wheels 11 rotatably mounted on the chassis 10 and its rear wheels 12 mounted on extensions 40 which slide in side members 39 of the chassis 10. The seat assembly 23 is mounted on bearer members extending through slots 22 in the tubular side members 16 so as to be movable from the normal push chair level to the elevated position shown in which it can be used as a high chair. During the vertical raising of the seat assembly 23 by use of the handles 30 the cranked link 31 is drawn rearwardly and upwardly by the links 32, 33 thereby automatically extending the wheel base via the thrust links 43. The chair may be collapsed when the seat assembly is in the lowered position by breaking the toggle struts 18, 19 and rotating the side members 16 forwardly.
