Abstract

The folding child's push-chair has twin wheels (3, 4) mounted independently on the lower ends of two front (5) and rear (2) bars, jointed together by articulated lateral struts (9) so as to form the two sides of the chair. The seat is mounted between the sides, and there are rigid cross-members fixing the two front and rear bars together (6, 7). The bars pivot on an inverted-U-shaped handle (1), the rear ones at points part way along its arms. The front ones pivot on the lower ends of the arms and at points before their uppermost ends, so that these latter ends are below the lower ends of the arms and parallel to them. Thus when the handle is folded forward towards the front wheels, the bars carrying them and the rear wheels move apart and sink towards the ground, until the chair is folded flat with the handle against the front bars.
