Abstract

927,749. Speed-frames. ZINSER TEXTILMASCHIN G.m.b.H. March 28, 1962 [March 30, 1961; March 2, 1962], No. 11780/62. Class 120 (2). In a speed-frame having flyers mounted to rotate in upper and lower bearings and driving shafts for flyers and bobbins having fixed axes, each bobbin receives its lifting and rotating movement by means of a vertically-movable and rotatable bobbin carrier which receives its rotation by being keyed to an axially-fixed rotatably-mounted sleeve rotated through a gear-train from a shaft with a fixed axis, while its vertical movement is received from a non- rotary lifting-sleeve held against rotation by being keyed in a fixed sleeve and moved vertically by a rack-and-sprocket from a shaft with a fixed axis. In Figs. 2, 3 the bobbin 30 is secured by a member 56 having a roughly triangular part engaging in an opening of corresponding shape on the top-member of the bobbin, to a carrier 50 constituted by the tubular upper part of a shaft 5. For its rotation, the shaft is keyed at 55 to a sleeve which is rotated by gears 35, 41, the latter being on a fixed driven shaft 40. For its vertical movement the shaft is mounted in a sleeve 60 so that it can rotate in it and move vertically with it; the sleeve moves on a guide 70 to which it is keyed at 62 to stop it rotating, and has a rack 61 engaging a sprocket 64 on a fixed driven shaft 63. The flyer is driven by being attached to a sleeve 14 driven by gears 18, 21, the sleeve 31 being rotatably mounted in the sleeve 14 by bearings 33, 34. In Figs. 10, 11, the bobbin is secured at 56 to be carried by a sleeve 59 which is carried by the upper part 67 of a shaft 65 so as to rotate around it but to move vertically with it. The sleeve 59 is mounted in sleeve 31 so as to rotate with it (key 59a) but to move vertically relatively to it. The sleeve 31 is rotated, and shaft 65 raised, as previously described. In other forms (a) separate shafts may be provided for each row of spindles on a frame, bevel- and spur-gears being interposed between the gears 21, 18 and 41, 35; (b) the bobbins and flyers in both rows (Fig. 6) may be driven by common shafts 26, 46; for raising the bobbins, the shafts 5 are connected to a table 80 raised by a series of carriages 82 arranged along the frame and each operated by rack-and-pinion 83, 84; (c) lifting mechanisms as in Fig. 2, are provided only at intervals, intermediate shafts being rotatably mounted in a beam interconnecting adjacent mechanisms. Springs or counterweights may be used to relieve the shaft 63 of the weight of the parts.
