Abstract

927,460. Orientation of sweets. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH) Ltd. Nov. 28, 1960 [Dec. 23, 1959], No. 43621/59. Class 78 (1). Sweets 11 are fed in six rows by endless belt 13. The forward sweets are tapped into position by stop 21 operated by rod 23 whilst the next rearward sweets are checked by bar 24 which is caused to press down thereupon by arm 32. At the same moment the forward sweets receive an impulse from tappets 28 operated by arm 33 so that the row of six sweets pivots about ledges 18 and falls downwards endwise into respective shoots 16 to rest on platform 34. The next sweets are then held by trappers 42 operated by rod 45. Platform 34 carrying six sweets endwise is then slightly lowered, the sweets are pressed inwardly into position by inwardly-advancing pushers 57, and finally the batch of six sweets is discharged forwardly by pusher 44 into the pocket 54 of an endless conveyer 56. The various movements of the arms are produced by the cams and cam-followers shown driven from shaft 39.
