Abstract

927,185. Winding bobbins. MICHELE RATTI S.p.A. Aug. 24, 1960 [June 23, 1960], No. 15439/62. Divided out of 906,745. Classes 120 (2) and 120 (3). The spindle of a bobbin rotated to be wound by its contact with a drum 18 is received in recesses 11 formed in the arms 1, 2 of a cradle pivotable about a shaft 5. A groove concentric with shaft 5 is formed in a member 13 mounted on arm 1, while a complementary shoe 4 rotatable about a shaft 15 engages in the groove to allow the cradle to rise as the package grows but prevents the cradle being lowered. Lowering of the cradle may be allowed by lifting shoe 14 out of the groove by a lever 16 pivoted on member 13. The yarn being wound passes over a bar 19 normally held against a further bar 20. If, however, the yarn breaks or its tension drops, bar 19 rotates outwardly and shifts, by means of a rod 21, a notch 28 on an arm 22 into the path of a constantly oscillating pawl 26. Arm 22 is connected to the arm 1 of the cradle so that when it is lifted by pawl 26 the bobbin is moved out of engagement with its driving drum 18 where it remains due to the action of shoe 14. Simultaneously a stop 29 on arm 22 operates a switch 30 to light an alarm bulb 33.
