927,068. Valves. A. J. HODGKINSON. Nov. 7, 1961 [Sept. 14, 1961], No. 32965/61. Class 135. In a valve construction for a water pump delivery line a non-return valve d, a regulating valve h and a lead-off valve q are combined in a single housing. The non-return and regulating valves control ports g in a sleeve f, regulating valve h being actuated through a lever j and balanced by pressure from the valve outlet acting on a piston y. Leak-off valve q may be opened by a lever t or by the closing movement of non-return valve d engaging a roller r or by an axially adjustable rod x on regulating valve h. The leak-off valve is balanced by a piston d1 which may be connected to the upstream side of the valve through a valve g1 or to the atmosphere via valves f1 or h1. Valve f1 is thermostatically controlled to open the leakoff valve when excessive pressure in the pump produces overheating. Pressure reduction of liquid passing through leak-off valve q is effected by holes in a cone b1 and by diaphragm means e1 in outlet w. A by-pass valve may be connected between branches c1.
