Abstract

926,727. Knitting-machines. A. BELZ. June 12, 1961 [June 24, 1960], No. 21067/61. Class 74 (2). A rail 1 is provided for each needle bed on the cam carriage of a flat links-links machine and is recessed as at 2 to enable the sliders to be engaged with and disengaged from their corresponding needles. A plate 6 is mounted on each rail 1 and is slotted as at 4 to enable it to slide along the rail on pins 3 when a projection 5 is engaged by the sliders. In each of its end positions the plate 6 is adapted to be raised by the sliders as they are deflected upwardly to engage or disengage the needles and as they enter the slot 2 in the rail 1. The projection 5, however, serves to press the sliders down as they are withdrawn after engaging needles and ensure that the needles are properly connected to their corresponding sliders and not accidentally left idly in the mid-position between the two beds and disengaged by both of the corresponding sliders.
