The frame B which carries one runway b for a stretcher is transversely movable with respect to the other runway a by the hand operated wheel d engaging a chain d<SP>1</SP> or rack attached to the frame B. The seat c<SP>1</SP> is pivotally attached to the runway a so that when the frame B is retracted the outside edge of the seat rides up the ramps b<SP>1</SP> to assume a canted position.
