Abstract
925,487. Valves. DONKIN & CO. Ltd. Jan. 19, 1962 [Jan. 30, 1961; Oct. 3, 1961], Nos. 3370/61 and 35686/61. Class 135. When control valve 32 is lowered, hydraulic pressure at 40 from pump 33 passes via 22, 26 to beneath double-acting piston 19 to open gate valve 11, exhaust fluid above the piston flowing via control valve connected passages 23, 36, 51 to a valve position indicator 37, e.g. having a rotary vane 42. When piston 19 reaches its upper position it opens a port 29 so that pump pressure acts directly via check valve 31 and pipe 23 to positively force the indicator vane fully into its valve open position, whereupon the vane opens port 46 and the fluid passes through check valve 48 and control valve connected passages 35, 41 to the pump inlet. Valve 11 is closed on reversing the flow and using check valves 30, 49. The indicator is thus prevented from lagging behind the valve movement. The indicator may be a piston and cylinder type. Two remote control valves 32 connected in parallel in conjunction with two indicators 37 connected in series may be used with a single valve 11.
