A double fitting for the variable mixing of hot and cold water, comprises a valve housing 1 having an entrance chamber 5 and a valve chamber 7 for cold water from a supply an internal valve to control the supply thereof to the chamber 7 and an external distributing valve for control therefrom to a mixing chamber 25 and/or a channel 27 leading to a heating element and then to the chamber 25, both valves being independently operable through valve spindles 10, 11, the spindle 10 of the internal valve being located axially in the spindle 11 of the distributing valve having a hollow valve cone 13 secured at its inner end in a conical valve seating to which is connected the mixing chamber 25 and the channel 27, the valve cone 13 having a spiral shaped recess 14 in its outer surface open to the valve chamber 7, and pre-selecting the path of cold water from the chamber 7 to the chamber 25 and/or the channel 27. The valves are arranged in the housing 1 as a single unit. The spindles 10, 11 are sealed with respect to the housing 1 and to each other by a packing plate 9 and packing ring 12. The internal valve comprises a valve body 8 having the packing plate 9 freely rotatably mounted on the inner end of the spindle 10. A hair sieve 3, secured in position by a spring ring 4, is arranged at the entrance chamber 5. An actuating handle is secured to the outer end of the spindle 11, its rotation in both directions being limited by end stops. The handle has recesses in which engages a spring- urged pin for intermediate positions, also acting as a stop for the end positions.
