Abstract

920,725. Two-part couplings. TESLA, NARODNI PODNIK. Nov. 16, 1960 [Nov. 19, 1959], No. 39353/60. Class 38 (1). One part of a two-part connector for coaxial cables is provided with serrations 9 on the outer surface of the collar 1 which intermesh when fully inserted into serrations 10 on the other part to prevent relative rotation of the parts so that the continuity of the wave guiding surface is not broken. The parts are additionally held together by the nut 7 screwed on the thread 8 with the surface 3 of the collar 1 held against the shoulder 4 of the collar 2. The various layers 23, 14, 13, 16 of the conductor are firmly held in the connector by the split chuck 15 which has a conical chamber 18, 19 at each end. The outer conductor of the cable is bent over the chamfer 19 which is then firmly pressed and self-locked in the conical recess of the body extension 21, the other chamfer 18 fitting into a conical recess on the cap nut 20. Access for soldering the inner conductor 23 to the contact 5 is by the insulated resilient cap 26 having a projection 27 which presses the metallic lid 24 against the shoulder 25 of the body part 22.
