Abstract

A printing ink which when applied to suitable absorbent paper or like material only becomes visible when the printed matter is wetted contains 10-20% by weight of an airdrying silicone composition containing not less than 50% by wt. of water-repellent silicone; 2-5% of Extra Viscous Varnish or 2% of stearic acid; and the balance of White Spirit. A suitable silicone composition is M.S. 2202 which is of the kind described in Specifications 708,821 and 723,989 as a textile processing product. Extra Viscous Varnish consists of 60% boiled linseed oil, 10% Copal Gum and 30% White Spirit.
