Abstract

918,864. Siphonic flushing cisterns. GEBERT & CIE. Feb. 19, 1960 [March 23, 1959], No. 5977/60. Class 26. In a discharging device for a flushing cistern which is siphon-operated, in the outer part of the siphon 1 there is a piston of two annular parts 19, 20, freely movable relative to each other, the part 19 being connected through two rods 22 to an operating member 31 whereby the piston can be raised and flow initiated. The siphon 1 has a tube 2 axially surrounded by a bell 3 and extending down through and attached to the cistern, the parts 19, 20 having play between them and the tube 2 and a portion 6 of the bell 3, respectively. The bell 3 has a portion 4 as shown, the rods 22 passing partly within the portion 6 and partly outside the portion 4 and being joined at the top by a yoke 26 connected to a lever 28 at one end 27. The lever 28 is pivoted about a pin 29 fixed to the cistern and at its other end is connected to the member 31. The part 19 is a flat ring, on which the part 20 rests in the resting position, being guided in moving by by the portion 6 of the bell 3. Connection to a flushing duct is by means of a cap nut 16 with a squeezed packing 17 and an inserted ring 18.
