Abstract

918,450. Pivoting sliding windows. THAM, A.B., PERCY. Aug. 22, 1961 [Aug. 22, 1960], No. 30213/61. Class 20 (3). The pivoting slidable window sash 2 has oppositely directed pins 5 slidable in guides 4 of the type shown in Fig. 5 and two oppositely directed journals 8 on the same sides of the sash as the pins 5, the journals 8 supporting the sash by slidably resting on bracket 6 secured to the frame 9, the opening movement being limited by stops or lugs 12 on the bracket. The frame 9 may be the fixed main frame or a frame which pivots about a vertical axis in the fixed main frame. The guide surface 11 on the inner side of the windows has a recess 10 the recesses in the pair of guides 11 enabling the pins 5 to be inserted into or withdrawn from the guides 4.
