Abstract
Refractory bodies are reinforced by introducing metallic fibres, whiskers, wire or gauze, e.g. of molybdenum or steel or non-metallic whiskers, e.g. of silicon nitride, into the p refractory body whilst it is being formed by the projection of molten droplets and/or particles of the refractory material, e.g. zirconia or alumina, on to a supporting surface by a flame spraying operation. Specification 903,709 is referred to.ALSO:Refractory bodies are reinforced by introducing metallic fibres, whiskers, wire or gauze e.g. of molybdenum or steel or non metallic whiskers e.g. of silicon nitride into the refractory body whilst it is being formed by the projection of molten droplets and/or particles of the refractory material e.g. zirconia or alumina, on to a supporting surface by a flame spraying operation. Specification 903,709 is referred to.
