Abstract

918,110. Ceiling-roses. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Sept. 22, 1961 [Oct. 18, 1960], No. 35778/60. Class 38 (1). A terminal block adapted for suspending electric lamps from ceilings comprises a moulded insulating base 1 formed with a platform 2 carrying a terminal housing 3 to one side thereof and having apertures 5 in the remaining surface for cable entry therethrough, the housing and connections being protected by a removable cover 14. Live connecting parts are shrouded by the terminal housing 3 and fitment of the cable cores in grooves 13 together with a boss 16 on the cover provides a cord grip action. In an adaptation (Fig. 3, not shown) for use with wiring enclosed in steel conduit the rear of the block is recessed and includes one or more sockets providing access through the block for the cable cores.
