Abstract

916,197. Dentistry. BRASSELER, P., [trading as BRASSELER GEB.]. May 9, 1961 [May 10, 1960], No. 16839/61. Class 81 (2). A dental burr comprises a combination of a metal drill and a diamond drill. In one form described the shank 9 has a hard metal tip 11b soldered to it and shaped as a cutting element, while the adjacent portion 10a, forming the remainder of the head, is cylindrical and is coated with diamond chips embedded in metal or synthetic plastic material. Other shapes of cutter are also described in one of which the diamond faced portion has spiral grooves to assist in conducting cooling liquid to the cutter tip.
