916,121. Pipe joints. HUFNAGEL, W. July 22, 1960 [July 24, 1959], No. 25616/60. Class 99(1). A pipe joint comprises a tubular member 1c, Fig. 3, the ends of which have concave recesses 2a, 2b, in which the convex ends of the pipes 3a, 3, seat, the radius of the convex ends being smaller than that of the recesses to obtain line contact. The member 1c may be a plain tube or may have a resilient wall 4b which is convexly or concavely curved, which wall may be integral with the annular ends or secured to separate end pieces. In Fig. 2 the end pieces 1b, 1c, connected by a resilient tube 4a, are provided with guide tubes 6 sliding within one another. Specification 825,222 is referred to.
