Abstract

914,986. Universal joints. CESKOSLOVENSKE ZAVODY NAFTOVYCH MOTORU PRAHA NARODNI PODNIK. June 8, 1960 [June 26, 1959], No. 20187/60. Class 80 (2). A flexible coupling comprises a resilient inwardly open annular member 6 with its edges bonded to the flanges 1, 2 of the driving and driven shafts 3, 4, respectively, thereby forming a pressure-tight chamber 8 which is filled with compressed gas, such as air, through a non- return valve 10. In the form shown in Fig. 3 the member 6 is provided with a metal cover 12 provided with outer cooling ribs and inner flanges bearing against the outer surface of the member 6, the rubbing surfaces being formed of " Silon " (Registered Trade Mark) to reduce friction.
