' Yeast is packed in a bag 55, Fig. 2, of plastic material impermeable to water and oxygen, by first closing the mouth of the bag and rolling it in to a number of overlapping folds extending across the mouth of the bag and then reversing the ends of the mouth by folding said ends inwardly towards one another. In Fig. 3 the ends of the rolled up mouth of the bag are being reversed by folding inwardly two side flaps 56a of a box 56 containing the bag. The side flaps 56b of the box are then closed and stuck down. Carbon dioxide generated by the yeast will be released since the package will open under the effect of internal pressure.
