Abstract
913,841. Buildings; door and window frames. HENDERSON, A. Jan. 23, 1959, No. 2532/59. Classes 20 (1) and 20 (3). A building comprises a number of units placed end to end, each unit consisting of an upper cast concrete component comprising a roof member 44, Fig. 18, integral with wall members 45, resting on a lower cast concrete component comprising a floor member 34 integral with wall members 35. The units are connected by a tongue-and-groove joint 12 or are separated by columns 103, Fig. 33, to afford an all-round window 104. Metal posts embedded in the units may replace the columns 103. The building rests on foundations 54. Doors and windows, fireplaces 78 and chimneys 81 are provided and a hallway is formed by integral members 47, 37. A staircase unit is illustrated in Figs. 31 and 32 (not shown). The other units are joined to the side of the building by mortar filled in coincident gaps into which also extend reinforcements embedded in the concrete. Spaces for services are mentioned with regard to Figs. 26 and 34 (not shown). Specification 913,842 is referred to.
