Abstract

913,245. Dispensing stamps &c. BARTSCHI, P. July 31, 1959 [Aug. 6, 1958], No. 26431/59. Class 106 (3). [Also in Group XVII] In apparatus for delivering a stamp from a roll 13, depression of a lever 32 by means of a key 59 causes a rack 33 pivoted thereto at 33a to descend and rotate a knurled feed wheel 36 by means of a pawl escapement, there being a slight delay before the wheel commences to turn. The lower end of the rack 33 abuts an arm 52 extending from a clamp surface 48 urged upwards by a spring 50 to grip the strip of stamps 7. As the rack 33 moves downwardly it turns the arm 52 anti-clockwise and releases the grip of the clamp 48. A pressure roll 44 is urged by a spring 46 against the feed roll. A surface 51 on the cover 42 of the apparatus forms an upper clamp surface and may be replaced by a resiliently-mounted plate. The cover 42 is pivoted to the base of the apparatus and is held closed by fastening means 56, 57, 58.
