Abstract

Therapeutic compositions in unit storage form comprise a neutral excipient and a salt having a non-toxic anion and one of the following cations: N - benzyl - N - 2 - hydroxyethyl-N : N - dimethyl ammonium; N - benzyl - N-ethyl - N - 2 - hydroxyethyl - N - methyl ammonium; N-benzyl-N : N - di - (2 - hydroxyethyl) - N - methyl ammonium. Suitable salts are the bromides and p-toluensulphonates. The compositions may be put up into conventional forms e.g. tablets plain, coated and enterically coated, capsules, granules, aqueous and non-aqueous preparations, injectable solutions and suspensions and suppositories. Such forms may also contain conventional flavours, preservatives, anti-oxidants, buffers, suspending, thickening and emulsifying agents, bacteriostats, binders and lubricants.
