Abstract

911,124. Textile drafting apparatus. SKF. KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. July 8, 1959 [Oct. 25, 1958], No. 23489/59. Class 120 (2). A top roll carrier and weighting arm in a textile drafting apparatus is mounted in stationary supports so that it can swing upwardly out of operative position in a plurality of stages in different directions determined by co-operating cam surfaces and cam follower members. An operating lever 4 has pins 5, 16 with rollers 5<SP>1</SP>, 16<SP>1</SP> which engage in slots 13, 15 in a top roll carrier arm 3 and cause the arm 3 at first to move vertically on the bar 1, and when all weighting pressure has been released, to swing upwardly until the bar 1 is free of a slot 14 in the arm 3, and the arm rests with a portion 3<SP>1</SP> on the bar 1, thus holding the arm in the inoperative position. In a second embodiment the arm 3 and lever 4 fit over the support bracket 2, and a further slot is engaged by a pin on the bracket 2. The arm may be locked in the operative position by virtue of the shape of the slot 15.
