In a tube coupling, a clamping collar 1 adapted to be disposed about a tube 2 has an external diameter which is reduced in step form to provide an annular stop F adapted to be engaged by the bore 3e of a coupling sleeve 3 so as to limit the degree of axial movement of the sleeve over the collar and thereby limit the deformation of the bore portion of the collar caused by such movement; prior to deformation, the bore of the collar is cylindrical and serves to maintain a concentric relationship between the tube, the collar, and the sleeve prior to and during deformation of the collar. The stop face F and the free end of the collar portion 1a may be bevelled on the peripheral surfaces thereof, and the conical surface 3e of the sleeve may include a radial shoulder.
