The supply of pulverulent or granular material to, or the speed of, a weighing type endless conveyer is controlled in dependence on the time integral of the product of the weight of the conveyer and the speed. In Fig. 1 pulverulent or granular material in a silo S is supplied by means of an extractor E to a weighing-type endless conveyer T driven by a geared motor MR. A signal dependent on the weight of the conveyer, derived from a weigher D, and a signal dependent on the speed of the conveyer, derived from a speedometer t, are multiplied together in a regulator unit R in which the difference between the product and a desired value of the product derived from an adjustable unit AF, serves to control, through a servomotor SM, the rate of feed of extractor E. Regulator R developes and adds an integral component of control. The system maintains constant the mean rate of supply of material by conveyer T. The signal from unit AF may be varied in dependence on a physical variable or in accordance with a programme. A plurality of conveyers, having separate automatic regulating systems, supplying materials to form a mixture, is referred to.
