Abstract
909,914. Securing clutch plates on shafts. NEWTON & BENNETT Ltd. March 23, 1959 [March 27, 1958], No. 9788/58. Class 80 (2). [Also in Group XXXII] A clutch plate 21, Fig. 3, has apertures receiving the usual circumferentially disposed compression springs 28 also received in apertures in a ring 13 secured to a flange 12 on a hub 10, washers 23, 24 of facing material being frictionally engaged between the parts by at least one spring 25 carried by rivets 27 on the clutch plate, to dampen oscillatory movements of the clutch plate relatively to the hub. The rivets 27 are secured to radial arms 26, Fig. 1, forming a part of a ring-shaped portion 25 of the spring. In the form shown, a similar spring 29, Fig. 3, is mounted on the opposite side of the clutch plate 21 to the spring 25, but in a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the spring 29 is omitted and the inner periphery of the clutch plate extends further inwardly and is engaged with the friction washer 24 by the spring 26 alone.
