Abstract
908,730. Machines for making ropes. BETEILLIGUNGSUND PATENTVERWALTUNGSGESELLSCHAFT. April 29, 1960 [May 2, 1959], No. 15163/60. Class 109. Wire stranding machines are arranged to operate in tandem when connected by a spool-carrying tube. The intermediate tube 3 connecting stranding units 1, 2 may be mounted on pivoted arms for movement into and out of operative connection with the units 1, 2, or a crane may effect this movement. In order to eliminate the necessity for removing the stranding head of the rear unit 1 a telescopic tube 7 may be arranged at the appropriate end of the intermediate tube 3. Six spool carriers 8 may be mounted in the tube 3 so that, when connected between six and twelve spool units, the combined apparatus operates as a twenty-four spool machine. The combined apparatus may be driven by synchronized motors 10, 11, or a single motor.
