906,646. Mowing machines. ALLEN & SONS (OXFORD) Ltd., JOHN. Feb. 2, 1960 [April 29, 1959], No. 14678/59. Class 6(3). A cutter for a mowing machine comprises a plate 12 mounted on a vertical driving spindle 15 and fitted at its periphery with outwardly-directed and downwardly inclined cutter blades 20 arranged to sweep a conical path. The plate may be of conical or domed formation with a flat portion 11 for attachment to a flat support 14 on the spindle 15. The plate may be round, triangular, square or hexagonal in plan and may have two, three, four or more cutting blades 20 bolted at equally spaced intervals around its periphery.
