902,448. Cigarette - making machines. TABAK-UND INDUSTRIEMASCHINEN DRESDEN VEB. March 25, 1960, No. 10591/60. Class 130. A pair of cigarettes 10 with an interposed filter tip carried in grooves on a suction drum 5 are abutted together axially by spring tongues 20 which are moved inwardly by a roller 17. The tongues 20 are formed by a slotted disc 18 and the cigarette and filter tip groups are moved sideways against adjustable stops 21 at a point immediately preceding the position at which connector bands are applied to the groups. The roller 17 is carried by a block 15 adjustable in a groove 14 in an arm 13 clamped to the stationary axle 2 of the drum 5.
