Abstract
902,006. Fluid-pressure servomotor-control systems. RECHERCHES ETUDES PRODUCTION. March 26, 1959 [March 26, 1958; March 18, 1959], No. 10671/59. Class 135. A two-stage hydraulic relay valve comprises a first stage or pilot valve member O, Figs. 2 and 3, and second stage spool type valve member T. The pilot valve member O is electromagnetically actuated and is resiliently supported by two spring arms 11, 12 and has an extension 4 located by two adjustable springs 7 and 8 in the air gap of a magnetic circuit 1, 2, 2a, 3, the coils 2, 2a of which receive the input signal. The member O co-operates with supply and exhaust nozzles Gb, Gp to determine the pressure in a chamber defined by a diaphragm 9 and this pressure acts on the surface Q of the four-way spool valve T having working ports 22, 23. The other end surface of the spool valve is subject to the inlet pressure. The spool valve is centrally biased by two springs 17, 18 and the pilot valve member O is biased by two opposing springs Rf, Rm, the latter of which forms a feedback connection between the spool valve and the member O. In another example, the pressure chamber of the nozzles is formed by a cylindrical member which carries the valve member O.
