900,237. Lift control systems. OTIS ELEVATOR CO. May 9, 1960, No. 16267/60. Drawings to Specification. Class 78 (3). A lift control system for three or more cars serving a plurality of landings, provides for the dispatch of an unselected car at the lower dispatching floor to answer landing down calls ahead of descending cars, in the event of the number of such calls being in excess of a predetermined number. The unselected car may be dispatched to answer either the lowest landing down call, or a down call from a landing above a predetermined number of unanswered landing down calls. In an alternative arrangement the unselected car is dispatched to answer the highest landing down call in a " low zone," providing at least one unanswered landing down call exists above the " zone," and another exists within the " zone." The car dispatched to answer the calls in any of the above arrangements by-passes all up landing calls. The Specification describes in detail a control circuit for a three car system, operating without attendants, which is a modification of the system disclosed in Specification 721,988.
