Abstract

899,757. Control of A.C. motors.- INVENTIO A.G. April 5, 1960 [April 10, 1959], No. 12036/60. Class 38 (3). A lift-door, which is driven by a squirrel-cage motor 1, is closed when change-over contact 2 is moved to energize contactor 3, the stator winding 1.1 being connected directly to threephase mains R, S, T. As the door approaches its end-position, a cam closes contact 11 to energize contactor 5 for introducing resistors 7 into the stator circuit. At the same time, contactor 6 6 is energized for D.C. excitation of brake winding 1.2. Contact 9 is opened in the end-position of the door to disconnect the brake winding, the contactors 3, 5 remaining energized, however, so that the door is pressed against an end-stop. The door is opened shifting the contact 2 to release contactors 3, 5, and energize contactor 4, the motor exerting its full reverse torque. The speed of the door is reduced as the other end-position is approached by the closure of contact 12 for re-introdueing the stator resistance and re-connecting the brake winding. The motor is switched-off completely when it reaches its open-end-position. The brake winding is accommodated in the same slots as the main stator winding and has a pole-number which is greater or smaller by an even multiple than that of the three-phase winding.
