Abstract
896,897. Edge-trimmers. BROADBENT & CO. (ROCHDALE) Ltd. Oct. 24, 1960 [Sept. 2, 1959], No. 29877/59. Class 6(2). An edge-trimmer comprises a hand-propelled roller A, driving through bevel gearing B, B<SP>1</SP> a rotary cylindrical cutter C, the spindle b of which is mounted at its upper end in a bearing in the frame A<SP>1</SP> supporting the roller, and at its lower end in a bearing carried by a bracket B<SP>2</SP> fixed to the frame A<SP>1</SP>. The bracket B<SP>2</SP> also serves to support an adjustable stationary blade D with which the cutter C co-operates. The device may further comprise a guide plate D<SP>1</SP> and a grass box for collecting the clippings.
