Abstract
895,426. Moulding-processes. SHELL MOULDING FOUNDRY Ltd. Nov. 4, 1959 [June 17, 1959], No. 20754/59. Class 83 (1). Resin-bonded shell mould parts 13 or cores are shaped externally so as to shape the cast metal, the space bounded by the walls 9 being filled with solid flowable packing material 10. The parts are made by blowing sand-resin mix into a heated two-part pattern box 4, 5 to form the hollow shell 9 which is then filled with e.g. sand, powdered limestone, chalk, or felspar.
