892,908. Electrostatic precipitation. ZAVODY NA YVROBU VZDUCHOTECHNIC KYCH ZARIZENJ, NARODNI PODNIK MILEVSKO, VYZKUMNY USTAV VZDUCHOTECHNIKY. Oct. 28, 1960 [Oct. 31, 1959], No. 37044/60. Class 39(1) An electrostatic precipitator comprises a collecting electrode consisting of a filtering strip which is deeply corrugated or accordion pleated and separators 4, 5 in the folds of the strip, the separators being made of an electrically conductive or semiconductive material and are alternately connected to a high voltage source and grounded respectively. The high voltage source may be A.C. or D.C. The collecting electrode is formed by dielectric fibres. The separators are attached to the metal frames of the collecting electrode. The filter elements are arranged as a wedge; the grounded separators being on the outside of the wedge and the high voltage ones on the inside. One or more further wedge-shaped members 10 may be provided with adhesive tape 9 between them. In another embodiment Figs. 3, 4 in which the corrugations in the separators are shallow, the separators are conductive strips coated with non-conductive foil of synthetic material.
