Abstract

A substantially free-flowing and non-caking fertilizer comprises one or more fertiliser materials in particulate or granular form and a minor proportion by weight of finely divided water-insoluble potassium metaphosphate. The metaphosphate, which has the empirical formula KPO3, is preferably present in an amount of from 0,5 to 3% and has a particle size less than 100 m . In an example, 1% of the metaphosphate was added to an 18 : 18 : 18 mixed fertilizer comprising ammonium salts and muriate of potash.
