Abstract

888,182. Pressure gauges. DEWRANCE & CO. Ltd. March 26, 1959 [March 31, 1958], No. 10252/58. Class 106 (2). A bellows 4 has fixed to its closed end 8 a linearly movable strip 50 having a helical formation 54 engaging a rotary member 44 constituting the indicator, the bellows being enclosed in a casing 18 with an apertured end 20 secured to a member 26 fixed to a housing member 28 screwed into the wall 70 of the pressure vessel or pipe in which the pressure is to be measured. As shown, the strip 50 twisted helically engages a slot in a cup-like member 44 mounted on the inner race 46 of a ball-bearing and having a graduated flange 48, the graduations coacting with a pointer marked on a lens 60 fixed in the front of the housing 28. The scale may be marked on the lens and an arrow provided on the member 44. The flange 48 of the cup may be omitted and the scale secured to the inner race of the ball-bearing.
